A brand-new motorcycle valued at approximately LKR 600,000 was ceremonially offered today to the extremely remote Pulmudai Aethanaegikanda Aranya Senasanaya (Forest Monastery) for the convenience of the Maha Sangha residing there.

This meritorious act was inspired by the noble thought of the Chief Incumbent of Polgasduwa Forest Monastery, the Most Venerable Rajagama Vivekavihari Loku Swamin Wahanse. Through the generous contributions of the virtuous donors of the Bosath Vishwakarma Foundation, the motorcycle was formally offered to the Sangha for religious use.

The monastery is located about 17 kilometers from Pulmudai, and nearly 10 kilometers of the journey runs through dense forest terrain on a difficult gravel road, accessible only by tractor, Land Master vehicle, or motorcycle.

As there are virtually no Sinhala families within a 5-kilometer radius of the monastery, daily alms and meals for the resident monks are prepared by the devoted caretaker.

This motorcycle will be used to:

• Transport essential supplies needed for preparing alms

• Obtain medicine and other necessities for the Maha Sangha

• Facilitate transportation in this extremely challenging terrain

A needed offering was made at the place it was most needed.
